What can be more attractive than joining that special cloak or garment with a distinctive brooch? A person's station could be perceived by the jewelry they were wearing. The brooch was both a functional and decorative piece of jewelry. As an attractive accent to the garment itself, it lent the wearer a bearing of wealth and station.

Below are some examples of the work which we have already finished. All brooches shown below are designed with a fibula backing providing the ability to hold the heaviest of cloaks. These are available for immediate purchase. Custom brooches with your design are available with prices starting at $80, prices go up as the intricacy, and material increases. BR1 - Dancing Dragons. This attractive brooch has a zoomorphic motif and is adorned with green agate. A piece that would only be worn by a noble or chieftain. Cost - $35each / $60 per matching pair.

BR2 - Celtic Dragon. This brooch would have been proudly worn by any proud noble. We offer it in a blue, green, or red enameled background. Cost - $30ea / $50 per pair.

BR3 -Norse Cross. This brooch is of Norse design. We offer it in a silver or gold tone. Cost - $24ea / $40 per matching pair. 


Annulars or ring brooches came out in the 13th and 14th centuries and were worn through the 16th century. They are designed for garment weight or light cloak.

AN1g - This brooch has a classical design. It mounts a lab grown emerald cut ruby . It is made in 18K gold vermeil. Cost - $65.

AN2s - This brooch has the motto in French "God defends the right". It is made in sterling silver. Cost - $40. 

AN2b - This brooch has the motto in French "God defends the right". It is made in brass. Cost - $30.

AN3s - This brooch has the motto in Latin "SUAVITER IN MODO, FORTITER IN RE" or "Gentle in manner, resolute in deed". It is made in sterling silver. Cost - $40.

AN4s - This brooch is decorated with a ring of fleurs de lis. It is made in sterling silver. Cost - $45. 

AN4b - This brooch is decorated with a ring of fleurs de lis. It is made in brass. Cost - $35. 



Garments and cloaks were also joined together through the use of penannular. Such brooches were originated by the Celts during the Iron Age and later refined by the Anglo-Saxons. It is designed to have the pin put through the two joining pieces, then brought through the opening of the C, then by turning the C locking the joining pieces together. We offer two at this time.

PN1 - This penannular has a Celtic motif and would have been proudly worn by any. We offer it in a blue, green, or red enameled background. It is designed for a light to heavy cloak. Cost - $20.

PN2 - This penannular has a Celtic motif and in slightly larger than PN1. We offer it in a blue, green, or red enameled background. It is designed for a light to heavy cloak. Cost - $24.
